The Crypto Unicorns DAO Charter establishes that the DAO will elect 11 community members to serve as the Governance Council. The Council’s primary role is to review and approve proposals before they are sent to Snapshot for an official DAO vote. Each Council term lasts 6 months, with elections for the incoming Council held near the end of every term.

How to Nominate Yourself

If you are an sCU holder, you are eligible to file your candidacy for the Governance Council. Here’s how to participate:

  • To nominate yourself, simply reply to this thread with your intention to run for the Governance Council.
  • After 3 days, if 11 candidates have been nominated, we will proceed to Snapshot voting.

Snapshot voting will use the quadratic voting strategy, allowing voters to distribute their votes across multiple candidates as they see fit.

Important Notes

Due to the lack of nominees for the Season 5 Special Election Council, we will now focus on electing the Season 6 Governance Council, which will become active on January 4th, 2025. This election process ensures the DAO is prepared to resume regular governance in the new season.

Update: Season 6 Governance Council Election

Currently, there are five nominations: Prof, musa08, cuppy, TheGenji, and mrspacewalker007. Six more nominations are needed to proceed with the Snapshot vote. If received over the weekend, the voting period will begin early next week.

The following nominations have been rejected: Illest, Keizer, and Eyolis. This is due to their removal from the council during the Season 5 Governance Council, as outlined in the CU DAO Charter, which states that removed council members are ineligible to run again. Note that once a new council is in place, the community may propose amendments to the charter, including revising this rule.

Reminder: To be counted, nominees must submit their own nomination by replying to the forum post. Nominations by others will not be considered.
